New Year, New Adventures
My year started off with a visit from Linda, my friend from fourth grade!!! She and her husband, Gerritt, stopped in on their way from Arizona to San Diego. They spent two days in town and it was so much fun to hang out with them.
The first week in February, I ran my 2nd Half Marathon in Huntington Beach, CA. I improved my time by 8 minutes along with hurting my knee. But I am working on making a full recovery. While in California I went to Venice Beach and Santa Monica Pier. I love the ocean so it was a great time.
My work had a spirit day that was classic. Superheros!!! I was Wonder Women with the boots and all. My other friends went as a Powder Puff Girl and Shelley was Super Girl. My students loved it.

Birthday at Lake Mohave
The day after my birthday, I went cliff diving at Lake Mohave. Lake Mohave is actually the Colorado River after the Hoover Dam. The water was super cold and rather low, but I did give cliff jumping the old college try.
Here is my cliff jumping crew. Linda P. and her daughters Linda Sue, Summer and Katrina. Dave and Shelley are to the far right. We had a blast!
And although I only jumped a few times. I became an expert floater and judger of the jumpers. Here I am waving to the cameras before judging began!

28th Birthday
Here I am in my birthday crown, thanks to Grandma Springer. I wear it every year on my birthday. I went to dinner with some friends and then on a lovely wine walk.
Boating on Lake Mead
Kristin (my roommate) has a family boat in Vegas, so we got to take it out onto Lake Mead in September. Here I am with an old roommate, Shelley. She was my partner in crime/water buddy. We docked at a cove and floated for awhile. In the background is Kristin's brother, Erich, on the jet ski.
And here is my water buddy, Shelley, again. We were taking a break from the heat in the middle of Lake Mead. So scary because of how deep it is!!! I think my face would agree to the fear of the water.

New Dog, Lilly
My roommate and I were at the dog park on evening and a couple sat down near us with this cute little dog (see above). They told us how they couldn't keep her anymore and that she needed a good home. Then they proceeded to get up one by one and leave. They just left her at the dog park! So with very little convincing, my roommate decided to keep her and call her Lilly. So now we have three dogs where I stay. She is absolutely great though!
Vacation at Casa Kohorst
Once we got to Las Vegas, we were fortunate enough to stay at my roommates parents vacation house. I dare say that neither my mom or grandma wanted to leave.
