Sasha the Destroyer

I have discovered that my dog, Sasha, is a serious destroyer of any and all things that are not bolted down. She will tear up and dismember any and all that stand in her way. Shoes, paper towels...

Innocent pound puppy's...

Dad's favorite recliner! and this is just the beginning... Two nights ago she got into a brand new bottle of crazy glue!

Vacation 2009: St. Louis, MO

Every year since 2001, my friends from high school have gotten together and gone a road trip! (Pictured from left to right: Me, Jill, Linda, Meghan and Emily) This was our 9th vacation together!!! We went to St. Louis and stayed with two of the the girls who live in town. Day one was awesome! We went on a float trip through the Huzzah Valley...I can't tell you about it because what happens on the Huzzah, stays on the Huzzah. (it's true!) However our 5 mile float trip took 6 hours, because we kept getting stuck on trees, rocks, Meghan...she kept falling out of the boat. We also learned how to paddle a float, 100 feet before our trip was over.

Day two: We went to the City Museum, which is a playground for all ages. There are tunnels, seven story slides, and more. Here I am falling through a hole in the ground. This is right after I kicked my friend, Jill, in the face. Sorry Jill! I couldn't feel the step.

Here Jill, myself, Meghan and Linda are hiding in a cave. Thankfully this cave was easier to get out than some. During one of our journey's through the tubes and caves, an 8 year old boy told Jill to turn around because we weren't going to fit out...We tried...He was right. Dont' you hate when there right?

We also had a dance off at a local Irish bar. The guys that challenged us were good, but we won with our version of the Patty-cake! Special thanks go out to the crowd for supporting us and the caution tape that someone wrapped all over us!

Even though it's not picture. We did go to the Arch. It was so cool. I did not go to the top, but I am OK with that. We also went to Historical St. Charles, MO. Where Lewis and Clark set off to discover the West. The weather was amazing when we were there (thank goodness). And we tried the local dessert of Gooey Butter Bread (which just gave me a headache, way to much sugar for this girl). Emily lives right downtown and everything was in walking distance. Meghans parents had us all over for lunch and to see her nephew. It's always sad when we have to leave one another. But, what a great vacation!

Family time at the Winking Lizard

Before Collin and Alisha (my brother and his girlfriend) left to drive back home to Charlotte, NC and I left for my vacation to St. Louis, MO, we had a family dinner at the Winking Lizard in the Valley. There was beer sampling and loads of popcorn. Everyone had a good time! Can't you tell?! :)

Kelli get's married!

My roommate from college, Kelli, married a very large handed man, Mark! He wears a ring size 18 1/2!!! It was a very fun wedding. Everyone had a really good time. We even got to ride on a old school bus painted to look like the Cleveland Browns Dog... I also got attached by a swarm of mayflies!

Here are my parents. The were my wedding buddies this summer. They were at 2 of the 3 weddings that I attended. Thanks for keeping me company.

Springer Family Get-together

The Springer Family got together on Sunday to hang out. Aunt Mariann, Uncle Chris, Melanie and Alex came in from California too! We had beautiful weather, which isn't always the case. Thanks to Alex and his volleyball bracketing skills we had a double-elimination, blind-folded, one handed ladder toss tournament! (ok, just the elimination part is true, but Alex sure had a tricky bracket set up). Bella and Uncle Bill were a tough team and beat several foes. Way to go...

One of the teams they beat was the awesome team of my mom and I. Apparently I don't have the skills needed to play ladder toss. But I will practice and will be a force to be reckoned with next time.

Here's Alex showing off his height and his mad skills at Ladder Toss. Thanks Alex for making Melanie assemble this game! It was a lot of fun :)

Then whats any family gathering if there isn't an hour or two of photos!! Here are the 4 girl cousins... Gosh, I remember when I was the only girl. Glad that's not the case anymore. WE are sooooo cute!

Central Valley Art Show at Penn State

On Friday my parents and I drove 4 hours through Pennsylvania (my least favorite state to drive through!) to Happy Valley, home to Penn State. Here I am in front of the football stadium. Penn State is a beautiful campus and the art show was really fun. I bought a few things (I can't control myself at those artsy things!)

The art show covered several blocks of town and went through the campus too! A new art exhibit on campus had sculptures inspired by Grant Woods and Edward Hopper, both American painters. Here are my parents looking happy with a very unhappy grocery shopper. I have my picture with Grant Woods American Gothic.
